About Us

This is Chad; he is 38 years old and a Civil Designer, soon to be Section Manager, at Burns & McDonnell Engineering. When Chad isn’t working he is very busy making me happy. Whether that is our next home improvement project, moving around furniture, following me to Indianapolis to help my sister from another mother finalize her wedding, or just lying on the couch and watching TV or movies.  He loves to learn new home improvement processes. He never really grew up remodeling like I did. But I would have to say he is finding his way very nicely. I’m very proud of what he has learned in our short stay in our house.  
I’m Kristen. I’m 37 and when I’m not working on projects around the house or on the blog, I take on sewing projects from family members. I like to think of myself as a very crafty, organized person and I love to learn the new latest crafts. Looming is my latest addiction and I can keep creating them tonight. I’m also a lists lover and I’m always wanting to help my flew family members with design, lists, and organization. I also enjoy all kinds of TV Shows (particularly Hallmark Channel TV Christmas Movies) and curling up with Chad, Remi, several blankets and a good movie. You just can’t beat movies.

 


Last, but certainly not least, there’s Remi, our spunky 22-pound doggie.  Actually, she’s more like a part of the family than just a dog. She’s an energetic, 8-year-old Miniature Poodle. Remi spends every day on her perch watching the neighborhood like a little guard dog would. She loves when her Nana & Pops, Meme & Papa comes for visits. Along with all of her favorite uncles, aunts, cousins just anyone that will give her attention. Her favorite toy would be a smooth ball that we can only find at Petco along with her Kong (that’s not really a Kong) but she loves it anyways.

We originally met at college which used to be called Southwest Missouri State Universality “back in the day”. Chad majored in Drafting and Design while I majored in Drafting and Design with an Architectural Option and a minor in Construction Management.
Chad and I got married in 2003 went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. (Thanks Chad for planning the best honeymoon ever) We bought our 1950’s home in 2004 and have been remodeling ever since.
