Market here we come...

Chad and I hadn't been feeling well this past week, so we put off working on the porch until this weekend. Saturday morning we got up and 5:30am. Chad ran to Home Depot to get the wood....I thought he was only getting the 6 post for the stairs...however he got all of the wood, concrete, rock, and misc. We had to be somewhere at 8:30, needless to say we didn't make it. We did get there around 9:30...not bad. A little lack of reminding each other of the game plan. We had discussed the plan for the weekend on Thursday or so. It all worked out. Chad did rent an auger however, as you can tell that didn't last long. Chad was able to use if for each hole for about a foot. Then we had to do the rest with post hole digger. Thank god for that purchase on Jared's fence...the first time we rented an auger...and they sent me to buy these.

On Sunday we decided to work on the porch itself and make the railings. We already had the wood for all this in the garage just never really got around finishing it...with all the inside purging. Chad has some mean skills and it looks awesome. Jared said via text "Looks sexy! Atta boy Chad!!!" I would have to say the same thing. Chad did an amazing job.

From here we will work on the stairs this week. I'm hoping to start staining the porch and stairs and be done Saturday evening. On to the next project....

Trip Home - Sunday

We decided to upgrade our tickets on the way home to a roomette. I was hoping this way I might be able to sleep. I was able to nap for about 40 minutes. Dinner was included and it was really nice. Not sure I could make it to Utah with Chad in one of these. Where would the CPAP machine go...since ALL of our neighbors were snoring and it was 8:00pm. What would it sound like at 1:00am. Snore Fest 2014.

New Salem - President Lincoln - Saturday

Lincoln spent his early adulthood life in this small Illinois town. This is a rebuilt site. All the houses except one where rebuilt on the existing foundations.

So proud of mom...We saw every building and even went down to the restrooms and Museum Store. It was a perfect day to be out and doing this. We had a blast.

Mom & I are in the Store looking at gift items. The boys are ready to go home.
