Update on the Homestead

Last night we drove out to the lot to check on the progress. We brought Remi along since it was National Dog Day, so she got to see our new lot and the start of our footings and foundations.

Let the selections begin...

Chad and I met with Sheri last night at 3:00, we all hit it off nicely, making selection after selection after selection. It was a BLAST! Chad might not of thought so, but I LOVED it! We started with the hardwood floors. Chad and I choose a White Oak Barley with a medium stain. The wood will come in random lengths and random widths.

Next we got to pick out our kitchen cabinets color, granite, and backsplash. The cabinet color will be through the whole house. That was our choose, the color will also be lighter than what is shown here. We weren't able to pick out the exact color yet. We might try and pull colors from the wood flooring.

Then we started looking at bathroom tile. This tile will be 12x24 tiles. It will be in our Second Bath (Floor and Shower) Basement Bath (Shower) The bathroom counter tops will be the marble you see in this picture.

















This tile is also 12x24 and it will be used in our master bath. We are going to use matching 2x2 tiles on the floor of the shower. The small tile will be for the shower shelf.

This is a wood tile that we are going to use on the floor and backsplash of bar and floor of bathroom downstairs. The dark granite will be our countertop for the bar. 

Hope you are enjoying our posts as much as we are. It rained in KC all day so I'm guessing nothing happened at the lot today. 

We have a Basement....

Chad and I got back from sunny San Diego, later Friday night/early Saturday morning. The first thing we did was drive past the lot. Second thing we did we get the Remi Girl! We have a Basement!!!!

Monday we had our first designers meeting...more to come on that later. The nightly drive-bys started last night. Our hole is more cleaned out and they removed the rock and ramps.

We have Flags....

On Sunday, Chad and I realized we hadn't been to the lot in several weeks and we better stop by. Stopped by and found that we had flags on our lot. This was very exciting for us.

I'm so glad we went out there because the house next door is painted finally.....and they stole my house color. So back to the drawing board on this one....aka Pinterest to find an new color.

    Everyone in this neighborhood has the color brown, gray, or tan...or maybe gray, brown, or tan...or     tan, brown, or gray. It will not be any form of these three color....lets add blue to the list now. :(
